Julie Vu joined Eagle Mountain ISD as the Curriculum Coordinator for English Language Arts and Reading in the fall of 2014. She has a taught variety of courses, including developmental reading, middle school language arts, high school English, and AP English Literature and Composition. Most recently, she served as an instructor at Texas Christian University where she taught courses in adolescent literature, educational philosophy, and literacy. In addition to her experiences in the DFW area, Julie also taught English as a Second Language at The American School of Switzerland in Montagnola.

Julie earned both her Bachelor of Arts in English and Master of Arts from Austin College in Sherman, Texas. She was named Teacher of the Year by South Tarrant County’s Chamber of Commerce in 2006, and she was honored as an Outstanding North Texas Teacher by the Dallas Mavericks’ Board of Trustees in 2009. She was also named Educator of the Year by Saginaw's Chamber of Commerce in 2016 for her contributions to the district's English Language Arts and Reading program. She received her Ph.D. in Curriculum Studies from Texas Christian University in 2017.
